Tom was born in Atlanta, Georgia on November 18, 1951.
He graduated magna cum laude from Ball State University with a Bachelor
of Science degree in 1974, and attended Indiana University School of Law -
Bloomington, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 1977.
Tom was admitted to the Indiana Bar in 1977, and is also admitted to
practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit; the U.S. Claims
Court; and the U.S. District Court, Southern and Northern Districts of
Indiana.
He is a member of the Brown County Bar Association (President from
1985-1987 and Secretary-Treasurer from 1991 to the present) and the
Indiana State Bar Association. He is also a member of the Indiana Trial
Lawyers Association.
Tom was the Brown County Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney from
1979-1999, and a Brown County Public Defender from 1991-1997. He acted
as Counsel for the Area Plan Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals
from 1980-1993, and for the VanBuren Township Trustee from 1991 to 2010.
He is a registered Civil and Family Law Mediator.
Tom currently resides in Brown County with his wife, April, and their three
dogs, Molly, Abby, and Monty.
